When the New Western Hotel was brought to Ladysmith it was only 2 stories high.  It was raised and the section that protrudes on the left was added.  It has remained relatively the same, but is now called the Ladysmith Inn.  The bar ceiling was redone to reveal the embossed work and the bar and floor are relatively the same.
