Nicholson Building was originally three small buildings. The family lived in a small 3 room cottage (now a framing gallery) next to them. Nicholson became a principal contractor in town building the Oddfellows Hall and Nicholson Block. As the owner of a lumber yard he provided considerable materials to the construction of Ladysmith. Over the years it has been a prominent building. 1902, the Canadian Bank of Commerce, the Post Office, Cavin's Shoe Store, Liquor Store, Private School and now several shops. It is now known as the Koorn Building.
